Pernkopf's Devil's Atlas: a Nazi book on human anatomy that surgeons still use today.
The atlas's author, Eduard Pernkopf, professor of anatomy, was a Nazi, as were his four assistant illustrators. The bodies of victims of the Nazi regime were brought to the anatomical theater where the atlas authors worked. Therefore, at least half of the 800 illustrations in the atlas were written while dissecting the bodies of prisoners who died at the hands of the Nazis.
